The Norwegian Bar Association has two relevant services:

«Advokaten hjelper deg» is a service offered to assist people in finding the right lawyer for their case and that provides advice on what one needs to prepare before meeting with a lawyer for a consultation about a case.

Advokatvakten” is a service offered by local chapters of the Bar Association. They offer free consultations regarding general areas of law in regular or ad-hoc meetings in different parts of the country. They give advice in the meetings and also advise people on where they can seek further assistance for matters that go beyond the scope of the services they offer.

Gatejuristen

Kirkens Bymisjons volunteer street lawyers give free legal aid to people with addiction problems. The case officers can be reached by attendance at the offices or directly via telephone.

JussBuss

JussBuss is a legal aid service that is run by law students and that provides free legal aid in individual cases. They only accept new cases by telephone or in person and the case processing time is approximately two weeks. In addition, JussBuss have developed numerous brochures that cover common legal issues. These explain the legislation and help you to seek proper advice. Documents providing general information and legal facts are available in Norwegian, English, Polish, Russian and Spanish.

Jusshjelpa – Nord-Norge

Jusshjelpa in northern Norway is a legal aid service run by law students. They provide free legal aid in individual cases and accept new cases via the internet, telephone or in person.
