The Committee welcomes the introduction of an absolute minimum age of 18 years for entering into marriage and the adoption of Statutory provisions that marriages entered into with children under foreign law shall not, as a general rule, be recognised in the State Party, recalling joint general recommendation No. 31 of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women/general comment No. 18 of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (2019) on harmful practices and recommends that the State Party ensure support for children who are at risk of or have been subjected to honourrelated criminal offences, forced marriage and female genital mutilation and take active measures to put an end to these harmful practices.
