Welcoming the introduction of an absolute minimum age of 18 years for entering into marriage and the adoption of statutory provisions that marriages entered into with children under foreign law shall not, as a general rule, be recognized in the State Party, and recalling joint general recommendation No. 31 of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women/general comment No. 18 of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (2019) on harmful practices, the Committee recommends that the State Party ensure support for children who are at risk of or who have been subjected to honour-related criminal offences, forced marriage and female genital mutilation and take active measures to put an end to these harmful practices
